MOHAVE COUNTY – Late Wednesday afternoon, the Mohave County Health Department (MCDPH) Nursing staff was notified of seventeen new COVID-19 confirmed positive cases. Eleven of them are in the Bullhead City service area; three are in the Kingman area; three are in the Lake Havasu City area. There are also two deaths. Some of these cases are linked to a long term care facility. Of the two deaths, both were previously reported cases. Two killed in traffic crash

WIKIEUP – Two people were killed in a single-vehicle traffic accident in south Mohave County early Thursday. Department of Public Safety Troopers responded just after 1:00 a.m. to the incident about 15 miles south of Wikieup. DPS said the vehicle left the highway and rolled. Both the driver and passenger were dead at the scene. Further details were initially unavailable and an accident investigation continues.

Lillie Mueller, of Bullhead City, a student at Davis & Elkins College, has been named to the president’s list for the spring 2020 semester. The president’s list includes all full-time students with a 4.0 GPA for the semester. Related to the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), Davis & Elkins College is located in Elkins, West Virginia, 2 hours east of Charleston, 3 hours south of Pittsburgh and 4 hours west of Washington, D.C.

KINGMAN – In early May, Arizona Supreme Court Chief Justice Robert Brutinel issued Administrative Order 2020-75, updated and replaced by Administrative Order 2020-79, providing Arizona’s courts and the public with direction on returning to in-court operations after limited operations in response to COVID-19. The Order includes direction for in-person proceedings, empaneling juries, limiting access to courthouses and courtrooms, implementing social distancing and using technology to continue court operations. Some of the nicest people I’ve known have been police officers from county to state to city cops. I have some dear friends who wear badges and they are good people. The police officers who killed George Floyd on May 25th in Minneapolis at that moment and time were not good people. MOHAVE COUNTY – Face coverings will become commonplace in area court facilities going forward indefinitely to prevent spread of COVID-19.
