Postcards encouraging households to respond to 2020 Census going out

LAKE HAVASU CITY – The U.S. Census Bureau is sending postcards between June 24 and July 3 to all Lake Havasu households where P.O. Boxes are the only mailing address available. The postcards alert households that a census taker may drop off a census invitation soon or visit later to interview them. The Association for Supportive Child Care (ASCC) is providing free virtual training to all child care providers to help minimize the risk of COVID-19 in preschools, child care centers, and home-based settings. Plea deal sentencing up in the air

KINGMAN – A judge has broad range of punishment discretion in the case of a Golden Valley man who has entered a plea agreement in a drug case. Daniel Davis, 70, pleaded guilty on June 16 to separate possession and attempted possession of dangerous drug charges. Deputy Mohave County attorney Morgan Carstensen said 7 grams of methamphetamine was confiscated from the defendant’s home on south Tonto Road in Golden Valley in March. Kingman businesses fund local COVID-19 study

KINGMAN – Thanks to generous donations from locally-owned businesses― Preston Investments and Peterson Burge Enterprises― along with individual donations from community members, Kingman Regional Medical Center (KRMC) will conduct a local epidemiologic study of COVID-19 later this summer.  The study will involve several thousand community members who volunteer to participate in the effort. COVID-19 Update: 31 new cases, three deaths

MOHAVE COUNTY – Late Tuesday afternoon, the Mohave County Health Department (MCDPH) Nursing staff was notified of 31 new COVID-19 confirmed cases and three deaths, all three previously reported.  Two are 80-89 and one is 90+. Of the 31 new cases, 21 are in the Bullhead City service area. Thirteen of those cases are recovering at home and are linked to another case.
