October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and the Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) program and the Foster Care Review Board of Arizona (FCRB) are encouraging the community to act now and help raise awareness about its impact on individuals, communities, and children and families. The effects of domestic violence are far-reaching and not just for the partners involved but also for the children who may witness it. This can leave children feeling anxious and uncertain.  In some instances, it becomes necessary to place the children into kinship care or foster homes. GVID future: Six apply for appointment

KINGMAN – Six citizens have applied for possible appointment should the Board of Supervisors vote next Monday to transition the Golden Valley Improvement District from a county governed entity to domestic administration. Those who’ve applied for initial appointment to a domestic board whose members would be elected in the future include Brittany Bean, Jennifer Esposito, Danielle Ohle-Keck, Butch Meriweather, Stephen Tygard and Dennis German.
