On Thursday, October 29, Max Cash Loan Center owner Gary Messer and Branch Manager Shawna Owens donated a new American Flag to the Kingman Fire Department to be flown at Fire Station 22. Shawna drives by the fire station everyday and during the remodel process, the old flag needed an update as well. Two area women allegedly had sex with male inmates on multiple occasions at the prison that the GEO Group operates in Golden Valley under a contract with the State of Arizona. Genevieve Belden, 32, Kingman, and Melony Petrovffsky, 50, Golden Valley, both entered not guilty pleas during their Nov. 2 arraignment hearings at the Mohave County Courthouse. KINGMAN – The Arizona Elks have made a donation enabling the replacement of an essential freezer to the Kingman Area Food Bank. This freezer is used daily as community members are provided emergency food in the food bank store. Donations from St. Mary’s Food Bank, Safeway, Walmart, Basha and Smiths as well as several other local retail establishments are collected daily using a Food Bank refrigerated truck. KINGMAN – A six-month-long Kingman drug investigation culminated Nov. 3 with significant seizures and five arrests. Kingman police spokeswoman Jennifer Sochocki said federal agents assisted the local MAGNET narcotics task force with the execution of search warrants at one home in the 400 block of Wilshire Avenue and another in the 2000 block of Davis Avenue. Sochocki said a total of 10 pounds of methamphetamine and more than 500 counterfeit oxycodone pills believed to be made of fentanyl were seized.
