Operation King Crimson nets 120 pounds of meth, two pounds of heroin

KINGMAN – Local authorities say two Kingman-based Drug Trafficking Organizations (DTO’s) have been dismantled through “Operation King Crimson”, a 21-month-long investigation coordinated by the MAGNET narcotics task force and supported by state and federal law enforcement agencies. Two dozen people 28-70 years of age have been arrested for various drug offenses. Most of the defendants are from Kingman while a few are from Golden Valley, Dolan Springs and Las Vegas. Pot policy softened, current cases may be dismissed

Northwest Arizona residents can enjoy marijuana, in certain circumstances, without fear of prosecution. The Mohave County Attorney’s office moved quickly to relax its pot prosecution policies after roughly 60% of the state and local electorate approved Prop. 207 and recreational marijuana use in the Nov. 3 general election. “We are not waiting for the effective date but are acting immediately, as if Prop. 207 is the law as of election night as it allows charges to be expunged that occurred prior to the effective date,” said deputy county attorney James Schoppmann. Heroin confiscated after SUV crash

BULLHEAD CITY – A Mexican national was arrested after traffic and foot pursuit activity with police in Bullhead City resulted in the injury of civilians. Bullhead City police department spokeswoman Emily Fromelt said an officer used his lights and siren to warn the operator of a speeding SUV to slow down at 12:15 p.m. Monday in the area of highway 95 and Meadows Drive. Barricaded man dies from self-inflicted gunshot

KINGMAN – Kingman police have released more details of a barricaded subject ordeal that ended in a civilian suicide on Friday, Nov. 6. Police department spokeswoman Jennifer Sochocki said it was determined that Earl Hendrix, 37, died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Sochocki said offers responded at 10:35 a.m. to a domestic violence incident in the 2000 block of Simms Avenue.
