Biasiucci, Cobb eye legislative session

Dist. 5 State Representatives Regina Cobb and Leo Biasiucci discussed their priorities for the upcoming Arizona legislative session during a Dec. 14 zoom tele-conference with Kingman City officials. Cobb said sorting through Governor Doug Ducey’s COVID-19 executive orders will be handled early when the session is convened Jan. 11. “What do we want to extend and what don’t we want to extend,” said Cobb, a Kingman republican. “I think that’s going to be one of our top priorities coming into session.” Biasiucci, a republican from Lake Havasu City, said lawmakers have essentially been sidelined for months during the pandemic that…

Beware of children’s book, new phone

Dear Editor, There is a book out called “A Children’s Book of Demons.” Children are encouraged to draw “sigils” which dial up demons used in magic and occultism. Kids are taught how to contact real spirit entities. The book openly says the contents are demonic. It is available on Amazon. There is a new phone coming out – The Soul Phone. It is being developed by a well-funded organization called “Soul Phone Foundation”, who is committed to “an evidence-based technology” for spirit communication to talk to spirits, demons. Embrace the Christmas Story

Dear Editor, On the first Christmas Mary and Joseph had traveled to Bethlehem to pay their taxes. They were among a multitude of other people who were making the same trip for the same reason. The Bible says there was no room for them in the Inn. They found refuge in a stable and in the night, Mary delivered her baby. She wrapped him in swaddling clothes and laid him in a cow’s trough. Soon Shepherds watching their sheep in the fields were alerted by a heavenly host of angels about the special baby who had been born. They quickly…

Trump is the opposite of grace or poise

Dear Editor, My fervent hope is voters will remember the politicians who advocate placing our democracy in jeopardy by endorsing the overthrow of the election results (Mr. Brnovich included). Apparently they feel Trump deserves four more years to totally trash our traditions and institutions as well as convincing politicians into violating the oath Senators and Representatives swear to when they promise to defend the Constitution against all enemies, foreign and DOMESTIC (Trump included). They do NOT swear subservient to the President or his ideologies. Meanwhile, what we get from Trump and trumpers are claims of fraud, and one rejection after…

Bridge blocker gets prison

KINGMAN – A near 8-year prison term was ordered Thursday in the case of Henderson man who used his modified armored vehicle to block the U.S. 93 Colorado River bridge linking Arizona with Nevada north of Kingman in June, 2018. Mohave County Superior Court Judge Derek Carlisle imposed a 7.75-year prison sentence for Matthew Wright, 32. Wright is convicted of making a terrorist threat and unlawful flight from law enforcement. Another Judge rejected the same plea agreement, declaring it too lenient while saying Wright deserved a 10–25-year prison sentence. Defense attorney Michael Denea has said that Wright was protesting the…
