500 Golden Valley homes remain without water service

GOLDEN VALLEY, AZ – Approximately 500 homes in Golden Valley remain without water. The Golden Valley Improvement District water system’s booster station was shut down on Sunday, May 9 due to the failure of its supply well. This led to a loss of pressure in a portion of the distribution system. The initial problem is the well failed.  Water started to be lost in the storage tank.  Emergency interconnect was implemented.  The water in the tank got below 10 feet and the booster pumps had to be shut off so as not to damage the pumps.  The motor must be replaced….

MCSO awarded GOHS grant

MOHAVE COUNTY – Sheriff Doug Schuster is pleased to announce that the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office has received funding from the Arizona Governor’s Office of Highway Safety to purchase an all-terrain side-by-side vehicle. The chosen ATV, a Polaris General XP 1000, will be purchased for $29,126.32, using the awarded grant funds made possible by the passing of Proposition 207. The ATV will be utilized for multiple purposes throughout Mohave County. Water level in tank fell too low GOLDEN VALLEY – About 500 homes in the Golden Valley area are currently without water as the county works to resolve the issue.  County engineer Mike Garmon says “If you’re without water service, it’s because you live in an area that has a connection served by our booster station.” This area is roughly all connections along Agua Fria and north of Agua Fria, plus some streets on the west side of the district between Agua Fria and 68. Clark when he accepted the position of Utilities Director with the City.  The term will begin in June 2021 and expire in November 2022.
