Maria Elena McEuen (Carr) was born on October 25, 1963 in Jacksonville, Florida to James and Loretta Carr. As one of eight children, Maria was a spunky and mischievous child who enjoyed playing outside. She graduated from Sandalwood High School in Jacksonville, Florida. In 1984 Maria joined the United States Army as a Military Police Specialist. She was a patrolman on Fort Gordon. During her time in the service, she met Robert H. LAKE HAVASU CITY – The Tuesday, March 26 City Council meeting was the first gathering at the new Lake Havasu courthouse at 92 Acoma Boulevard South.  In honor of Women’s History Month, the city’s report shared that the first inaugural flag was hung at Mohave Community College. The mayor attended this event, and the flag is now being displayed at the campus’s special interest flagpole which is located between buildings five hundred and six hundred. Vietnam Veterans Memorial Day observed

KINGMAN – On Friday, March 29, Vietnam Veterans Memorial Day was observed at Veterans Memorial Park in downtown Kingman. The ceremony was hosted and coordinated by the Vietnam Veterans of America, (VVA) Chapter 995 in Kingman. The Vietnam Veterans Recognition Act was signed into law in 2017. designating March 29 as Vietnam Veterans Memorial Day. This date is significant as it indicates the end of the Vietnam War and the return of U.S. troops to American soil. Animal shelter move draws near

KINGMAN – Scores of dogs and cats will soon abandon weathered and worn-out kennels at a dilapidated downtown Kingman facility to transition to more comfortable confinement at Mohave County’s brand-new animal shelter at 3629 Burbank St. Woodruff Construction is wrapping up its year-long building campaign and will turn the 9,000 sq. ft. facility over to Animal Shelter Director Nicole Mangiameli at a date uncertain later this month.
