KINGMAN – The City of Kingman will ante up about $5.1-million more for phase one construction of the Interstate 40 Rancho Santa Fe Traffic Interchange (TI) project. The Sept. 17 City Council vote was unanimous in support of digging deeper into the public treasury after construction bids for the TI opened Sept. 6 came in higher than expected.
Pulice Construction submitted the apparent low bid for the work at almost $44 million, but various engineering, contingency and project administration costs bring Kingman’s bill to nearly $53.4 million.

LAKE HAVASU CITY – If you put yourself in a time machine in Lake Havasu City dating back to about 45 years ago, the town may look a little unrecognizable to the newer residents. Rather than making a stop at the Aquatic Center for a swim, the lake was the swimming pool and aside from the bowling alley, the drive-in movie theater, and having only one video arcade, there really was not much of a nightlife. It wasn’t until the opening of the historically famous restaurant bar and nightclub, Hussongs, that residents finally had something to look forward to on the weekends.
LAKE HAVASU CITY – An investigation by the Lake Havasu City Police Department Street Crimes Unit has prompted the identification and arrest of a serial graffiti suspect.
KINGMAN – A Kingman man who admits engaging illegal sexual activity with a teenager is going to the Arizona Department of Corrections. Russell Farney, 46, is being convicted of two charges reduced to attempted sexual abuse of a minor in a plea agreement unveiled Tuesday, Sept. 17. Deputy Mohave County attorney Marcie Mininberg told Superior Court Judge Lee Jantzen that Farney engaged in illegal touching of a 15-year-old girl. She said the crimes were committed in June, once in the garage and another time in a hot tub at a home in the 600 block of Shadow Mountain Drive. Terms…
