Farney to prison for attempted sexual assault

judge's gavel

KINGMAN – A Kingman man who admits engaging illegal sexual activity with a teenager is going to the Arizona Department of Corrections. Russell Farney, 46, is being convicted of two charges reduced to attempted sexual abuse of a minor in a plea agreement unveiled Tuesday, Sept. 17.

Deputy Mohave County attorney Marcie Mininberg told Superior Court Judge Lee Jantzen that Farney engaged in illegal touching of a 15-year-old girl. She said the crimes were committed in June, once in the garage and another time in a hot tub at a home in the 600 block of Shadow Mountain Drive.

Terms of the deal require Judge Jantzen to order a two-year prison term during an Oct. 9 sentencing hearing.
