Masks still mandatory in city government buildings

KINGMAN – The Kingman City Council voted to end the mask mandate, Tuesday evening at the regularly scheduled City Council meeting; however local businesses can still require face coverings due to their individual store policies. Kingman City Government buildings will still require the use of face coverings in buildings. The Kingman City Council hopes the community will still respect those who choose to wear masks, and those businesses that post signs to require face coverings. LAKE HAVASU CITY – The Lake Havasu City Police Department was awarded a $20,000 grant from the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety (GOHS) for conducting increased traffic enforcement operations. This will be for the 2020-2021 federal fiscal year, which runs from October 1, 2020 to September 30, 2021. This Selective Traffic Enforcement Program, or S.T.E.P. Grant will provide the Lake Havasu City Police Department the ability to increase traffic enforcement capabilities by assigning personnel on overtime to concentrate on speed enforcement activities and aggressive driving. KINGMAN – Police report a Las Vegas man is expected to recover after undergoing surgery following a weekend stabbing in Kingman. Police Chief Rusty Cooper said officers responded to Kingman Regional Medical Center at 8:40 p.m. Saturday after it was reported a stabbing victim was being treated for life-threatening injuries. Born October 7, 1952 in Alhambra, CA, Beverly Jean Liles passed away peacefully on October 17, 2020. Beverly will be missed by many community leaders, friends, family and loved ones. Preceded in death by her parents, Chester and Ruth Long of Kingman, AZ, Beverly is survived by her sister Sharon Parsons of California and her sister Janice Long of Utah. Beverly had two daughters, Jackie Zufelt of Utah and Donnell R. Buckley of California, and step son Donald Liles of Indiana.
