Second recall targets Miles, Stehly

KINGMAN – A municipal mask mandate that has since expired motivated the first recall drive that James Coffman launched on Sept. 14 in an effort to push Kingman Mayor Jen Miles and four Kingman City council members out of office. A second recall drive targeting Miles and council member Jamie Scott Stehly was initiated on Oct. 19. Stanley Hicks argues both should be subjected to recall election for their positions on various sales tax and budget related matters. Hicks is also critical of their support for a proposed ban on circus events in the city. Deputy City Clerk Melinda Mauser…

Mohave County Sherriff’s Annual Candy Crawl a huge success

Dear Editor, Halloween night was anything but hollow. Once again, the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office POP (Public Outreach Program) hosted the 3rd annual Candy Crawl. This event provides a safe and fun filled environment for families to enjoy the traditions of trick or treating on Halloween night. The annual event was on the verge of being cancelled this year due to the COVID pandemic and constraints, however, the event organizers were bound and determined to offer a safe environment for families to get out and enjoy a night of fun and entertainment. The response was astounding as an estimated 5,000…

Rancho development deal done

KINGMAN – A development agreement for construction of the Rancho Santa Fe Interstate 40 traffic interchange, a parkway arterial, connector roadways and infrastructure was approved with some fanfare at Tuesday’s Kingman City Council meeting. Vice Mayor Travis Lingenfelter said the interchange first made the city’s capital project list 49 years ago. “This is a really big deal that this is approved and this goes forward tonight. I think we turn a new page and get into a new chapter of Kingman’s success on the east bench,” Lingenfelter said. “It’s going to propel this community as far as industry and jobs…

This nation has an uphill battle

Dear Editor, Poor Donald J. Trump and family, ousted from public housing, the shame! At last Americans have had it. Since the spineless Senate politicians would not vote to impeach Trump, it was left up to the people to finally say enough. Time for a change to civility and a little compassion, time to heal the malignancy allowed to fester by this administration and get over our worldwide embarrassment! Lindsey Graham, Ted Cruz, and Marco Rubio all know what Donald Trump was after their debates. As soon as they found out Trump’s vicious vindictive nature, they all became sycophants, afraid…

Socialism is taking over our country

Dear Editor, We have finally done it. We have gone full circle and have given in to a socialist agenda. It has been truly amazing how this generation could be so ignorant to the damage they are asking for and now we are going to be forced to submit to the mandates that Biden and Harris will create for the American people. We will be paying for it greatly. Not all at once but slowly, over time. The socialist agenda has been in the making for a long time. By getting rid of the basics in our schools and inserting…
