This nation has an uphill battle

Dear Editor,

Poor Donald J. Trump and family, ousted from public housing, the shame! At last Americans have had it. Since the spineless Senate politicians would not vote to impeach Trump, it was left up to the people to finally say enough. Time for a change to civility and a little compassion, time to heal the malignancy allowed to fester by this administration and get over our worldwide embarrassment!

Lindsey Graham, Ted Cruz, and Marco Rubio all know what Donald Trump was after their debates. As soon as they found out Trump’s vicious vindictive nature, they all became sycophants, afraid to speak their minds in fear of his wrath, afraid of being ruined politically.

Based on many letters appearing in The Standard lately it seems Biden/Harris will have a rough uphill battle trying to unify this nation. Just imagine, if you will, Biden implementing some of the same policies Trump did? You think you have heard sniveling? If President-Elect Biden fired Bill Barr, and instilled Hunter Biden (who happens to be an attorney) as the new U.S. Attorney General, I am afraid the hospital’s cardiac unit would not be able to handle the onslaught.

New questions arise, will the Senate and Mitch McConnell refuse to work with Biden as they did with Obama? Remember the statement to make Obama a one-term president? But the most intriguing quandary, now that Trump can no longer wield his power to commute, (as he did with Roger Stone) will Trump head for a country without extradition laws to avoid becoming cell mates with Gates, Flynn, Papadopoulos, Cohen, Manfort, and now Bannon?

Just wondering.
