25th Annual Breast Cancer Awareness Walk set

October is Breast Cancer Awareness month. Havasu Community Health Foundation (HCHF) will be celebrating with their 25th Annual Breast Cancer Awareness Walk.  In the U.S., this yearly event has also been referred to as National Breast Cancer Awareness Month (NBCAM). NBCAM was created in 1985 in collaboration with the American Cancer Society and the pharmaceutical division with Imperial Chemical Industries.  They are now affiliated with AstraZeneca who distributes many anti-breast cancer medications. MCC’s Radiologic Technology graduates pass national board exams on first attempt 

MOHAVE COUNTY – Mohave Community College Radiologic Technology program 2023 graduates have all passed their national board exams on their first attempt. Having a 100% pass rate means that students in the program were very well prepared to take their exams. LAKE HAVASU CITY – The Lake Havasu City Council meeting took place on Tuesday, September 12 at the Lake Havasu Police Department at 5:30 p m. Council members began the meeting with the approval of abandonment of public utility drainage management.   The City Clerk’s office certified the resolution.  This was followed by a motion passed for the planned development rezoning.  The rezoning for Hilltop Community Church, 3190 McCulloch Blvd., was approved including multi-family parking standards. Homicide victim ID’d after 27 years

KINGMAN – A Texas-based laboratory has identified a homicide victim whose remains were discovered outside Kingman more than 27 years ago. Previous investigation determined the remains were those of an unidentified black male adult who was shot in the head. Two men hunting for rocks while walking their dogs came upon the shallow gravesite on Jan. 22, 1996, according to Mohave County Sheriff’s office public information assistant Jody Schanaman. She said the remains were recovered near a large rock formation and under a juniper tree north of Stockton Hill Road about three miles outside the city limits. Local authorities engaged…

Second crash victim dies

BULLHEAD CITY – A second Bullhead City woman has died of injuries sustained in a Sept. 1 traffic accident in the Colorado River community. Police Department Spokeswoman Emily Fromelt said Christine Walker, 84, died Sept. 10 at Sunrise Hospital in Las Vegas. Fromelt said Walker was the driver of a Dodge Dart that collided with another vehicle at N. Oatman Road and the Bullhead Parkway.
