An Epidemic of Insanity

Where, in which rule book or statute is it stated that when a group of people are angry (even justifiably so) that they are allowed to destroy private property and steal from blameless victims. How has it come to be that our society is so fractured that those people destroying the belongings and the lifelong work of others feel no remorse? Why is it that those people who knowingly choose to become felons see no wrong in their actions?

How can it possibly be, that elected officials whose job is to see to the good of their communities, are openly directing the their police to stand back and let the rioters, looters and arsonists wreak their brand of evil on the populace? What sort of lame and pathetic excuses are those officials offering to the devastated property owners and business owners? Will any of those officials ever offer to make those victims whole? What justification can there be for the authorities to immediately release those rioters, those looters, those arsonists with nothing more severe than a simple citation?

By what contorted rationale do officials buy into the idea of ridding themselves and their citizenry of the police? Do those who are pushing the idea of eliminating their entire police force and their keepers of the peace (as the vast majority of the truly are) really believe their pipedream? Are those sycophantic politicians and bureaucrats willing to see the rioters, looters and arsonists turned loose in their own neighborhoods?

Can these self-serving officials begin to imagine the scope and magnitude of the carnage that will befall their cities if they remove one of the very few barriers between the citizens and the villainous segments of our society? There are two terms that fit these politicos, one is the word fool, the other word is criminal. You can choose.

As in all situations, there is always incontrovertible reality. Thugs and punks and other bottom dwellers will remain just that. They have zero motivation to change, even with a full police force at work, and if entire police departments are eliminated, those low-life types will be even more emboldened and brazen in their preying on the honest citizenry.

The anger of some of the protestors may be heartfelt, but that offers no, repeat no excuse for the harming of innocent, defenseless citizens and the destruction of the business of the blameless person who has spent his or her life building that business.

Now, taking a small leap of thought, it is disgusting that the wrongful death of just one man and the resultant nationwide rioting and disruption have miraculously cured and eliminated the dread Corona virus? That particular epidemic, by the way, has proven to be a vastly overblown hoax. The exalted Dr. Fauci is now saying that the “second covid wave might not occur at all and that the wearing of masks is largely symbolic”. That oh-so-esteemed medico, who has advised six presidents, has helped the propagandists and the panic mongers lead our nation and our citizenry down a very steep and dangerous slope of economic damage from which many good people and businesses will never recover.

Putting aside, for a moment, the economic damage wrought by the covid panic, the psychological damage will have a very negative and permanent impact. People now know they’ve been lied to and while still fearful, they are furious that they have been duped. That anger and resentment is not going to go away soon.

Never in the history of the world has the vast majority of the population been herded into their homes with no guns and no brute force and with hardly a whimper. All because of the grossly overstated threat of a virus that, although more contagious, has been proven to be less harmful than seasonal influenza. A year ago it would have been inconceivable that the entire populace could have been persuaded to willingly place themselves in close confinement “until further notice”. Add to that scenario, the near total collapse, barring those businesses deemed “essential”, of the entire business and manufacturing capability of our mighty nation.

All because of an engineered bug and the eager help of the mainstream media.

There is now also the threat on the internet and social media that the ruin, wreck and burn folks are planning to bring their orchestrated chaos to the smaller, rural towns across America. Perhaps we who live here in rural America have gotten too complacent about our safety. It might be appropriate for all of us residents of rural USA to take stock about just exactly how safe we really are. Do we have door locks that actually lock as they were intended? Do we have enough external lights to dissuade evildoers? Are our gates closed and locked? Are the kids or grandkids aware of warning signs of impending trouble? Are you, as responsible adults, able and willing to defend your family, your property and your lives? There is, in this situation, an obligation that you and we (all) pay close attention to circumstances and goings-on all around you. If we pay constant attention to our surroundings and the whereabouts of our loved ones, we can most likely avoid grief.

So, recapping: Some cities are dumping their cops. Our state, our counties and our cities are behaving sanely, knowing that one bad cop does not make them all bad any more that thinking that one bad black kid makes them all bad. Our law enforcement professionals are here for us when we need them. Thank God. Our politicians and agency heads are still taking care of business as they are supposed to. Our public employees are doing their jobs as they are supposed to. The lights are still on and the roads are open and the fire fighters are still able to respond when called. Our streets and parks are safe for our families and kids. All told, we are in pretty good shape, out here in rural America.

Thanks to the wisdom of our founding fathers, our Constitution guarantees us the right to keep and bear arms in the protection of our loved ones and our property.

May God help us that we never have to exercise this right.

  1. I think your article reminds me of when Jesus said “hoard your wealth and keep the poor in their place”.
You must be the guy that believes everything he reads on the internet. Hilarious.
