BCSD schedules annual Fall Survey

school news

BULLHEAD CITY – The Bullhead City School District has opened its fall survey for parents and guardians to help improve relationships between families and schools. Surveys are online and anonymous. No personally identifying information will be tracked or maintained.

The survey is designed to help educators use data to improve student outcomes. It also helps BCSD find ways to better reach and involve parents and guardians. Despite notification and invitations via multiple avenues, participation in the semi-annual surveys generally hovers only around the ten percent range.

BCSD’s bilingual survey is online https://forms.gle/sTPaVLcG3PRqn5Xq5 and runs through October 30. It takes less than three minutes to complete the multiple choice questions. Parents with students in more than one BCSD school have the option to complete more than one survey. The district will also send home paper copies.

“When parents are involved in their child’s school and schoolwork, there are noticeable improvements in self-confidence, social skills and academic performance,” noted BCSD director of educational services Jennifer Lott. “In order to strengthen parental engagement, hearing from a majority of BCSD parents and guardians will make a difference. In the past, most usually disregard the confidential survey. Let this be the year that changes!”

Parent surveys are normally conducted once in the fall and once in the spring. Separate student surveys (with parental consent) also take place. Results will be presented to the public during an upcoming BCSD governing board meeting.
