With heavy hearts and cherished memories, we share the loss of Gary Brown, who passed away on October 13, 2026, in Kingman, Arizona, following a courageous battle with cancer.
Gary lived a life marked by hard work, generosity, and an unwavering commitment to helping others.
Born on March 26, 1947, in San Diego, California, to Patricia Ann Connell and Charles Raymond Brown, Gary would go on to build a life devoted to family, community, and service.
In 1976, Gary moved his family from Long Beach to Wildomar, California, where he spent the next several decades raising his family, building businesses, and becoming a dedicated member of the community. He remained in Wildomar until relocating to Kingman, Arizona, in 2023.
Gary believed in giving back, and his dedication to his community was evident throughout his life. He was a founding member of Wildomar Volunteer Fire Station #61 and a founding member and first president of the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office Mounted Posse, Lake Elsinore Station. He also volunteered with the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office Emergency Response Team.
His commitment to Wildomar continued through his role as a founding member and first president of the Wildomar Chamber of Commerce. He was an active member of the Lake Elsinore/Wildomar Elks Lodge #2591, where he served as Exalted Ruler for multiple years. He also served as president of the Wildomar Cemetery District, member of the Wildomar city planning commission, volunteered with the Trauma Intervention Program of Riverside County, and helped establish COPS for Kids, Inc. at the Lake Elsinore Sheriff’s Station.
An entrepreneur at heart, Gary successfully started and operated several businesses throughout his years in Wildomar, including equipment rental, backhoe/tractor service, towing company, answering service, and limousine services. He was a hardworking man who wasn’t afraid to take on a new challenge.
Gary and his beloved wife of 58 years, built a life together centered around family, hard work, and community. Throughout their marriage, she shared in many of his business ventures and community activities. Together, they raised their family and created a lifetime of experiences, friendships, and memories.
But Gary’s greatest legacy wasn’t measured by the businesses he built or the titles he held. It was measured by the lives he touched.
Gary was a man of extraordinary generosity. He may not have had great financial wealth, but he was rich in kindness and compassion. He was the kind of man who would give you the shirt off his back without a second thought. Whether lending a helping hand, offering his time, or stepping up when someone needed him, Gary gave what he could, often putting others before himself.
While Gary worked hard and gave much of himself to others, he also knew how to enjoy life. One of his favorite pastimes was visiting the casino, where he enjoyed the excitement of trying his luck. Whether he walked away a winner or not, it was something that brought him happiness.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Patricia; his sister, Carol Ann Herndon; and his brothers, Paul Pearson and Charlie Brown.
He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, his daughter and son-in-law, his son and daughter-in-law, his two grandsons, and his sister.
Gary leaves behind a legacy of service, generosity, determination, and love. His contributions to the community will be remembered, but it is his giving heart and the kindness he showed others that will remain his most meaningful legacy.
