KINGMAN, Ariz. – What do you love about living in Kingman? What could be better? And what should the city focus on in the years ahead? The City of Kingman is seeking resident’s answers to these very questions!
Kingman residents will once again have an opportunity to weigh in through the National Community Survey, giving the city valuable feedback on services, quality of life, and priorities for the community’s future. In partnership with the National Research Center at Polco, the city of Kingman is conducting the community wide survey as part of its ongoing effort to hear directly from residents and track how perceptions and priorities change over time.
Over the next few weeks, randomly selected households will receive survey invitations in the mail and are encouraged to follow the enclosed instructions to participate. Didn’t get one? Don’t worry. In September, the survey will open to the entire community, giving all Kingman residents an opportunity to share their input.
As a thank you for participating, residents who are randomly selected to complete the survey can receive free admission tickets to three Kingman museums: the Mohave Museum of History & Arts, Arizona Route 66 Museum, and Bonelli House Museum. Participants can enter their email address at the end of the survey to receive the tickets. Email addresses will not be connected to survey responses.
“We are excited to receive input from the community to guide our strategic planning,” said City Manager Tim Walsh. “The survey will give us a baseline understanding of our services and allow us to measure our impact going forward.” The National Community Survey asks residents about topics including the local economy, transportation, community design, utilities, public safety, parks and open spaces, community engagement, and Kingman’s overall livability.
Coupled with the results from the city’s recent Town Hall, this survey will help identify what is working well, where improvements can be made, and what residents believe should be prioritized. “The more people who participate, the better information we will have to guide our planning,” Walsh said. “This is an opportunity for everyone to share their thoughts and help shape the future of Kingman.”
