In Loving Memory of Jeannie Jungles
March 16, 1933 – June 19, 2026
Jeannie Jungles, a woman of sharp wit, immense strength, and a vibrant soul, passed
away June 19, 2026 at the age of 93. Born in San Diego, California, on March 16, 1933,
Jeannie lived her life by the Shakespearean truth: “Though she be but little, she is fierce.”
Jeannie’s professional life was marked by her incredible eye for detail and mastery of
language. She spent 23 proud years at the Kingman Daily Miner, where her skills ensured
excellence in every edition. Her intellect extended into her personal hobbies; she was an avid reader of all genres, a formidable chess player, and a lover of puzzles.
With a strong sense of adventure, she hiked Havasupai in her fifties — a testament to
her physical and mental grit. She lived by the advice she gave to her grandaughter: “Do
anything and everything you want to do, WHEN you want to. Tomorrow may never come.”
She found joy in the music of Elvis Presley, Fats Domino, Bing Crosby, and Perry Como,
but it was Frank Sinatra’s “My Way” that served as the true anthem of her life. Jeannie was preceded in death by her husbands, Rowland Hill, Conrad Urban, and Don Jungles, as well as her beloved son, Mike Hill. She is survived by her children, Mary Barbour and Terry Hill, and her granddaughter, Autumn Miller.
In accordance with Jeannie’s wishes, there will be no formal service. Instead, her family
asks that you honor her memory by telling those close to you that you love them.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hope Haven (2615
Chambers Ave, Kingman, AZ, 86401), the home where she spent her final years
surrounded by exceptionally loving caretakers. She did it her way, until the very end.
