Dahl enters plea in Kingman Operation Typewriter case

KINGMAN – A Kingman woman is the latest “Operation Mohave Typewriter” case defendant to enter a plea agreement that could send her to the Arizona Department of Corrections. Some 15 suspects from Kingman, Golden Valley and Chloride were arrested during an Aug., 2025 roundup following a multi-agency investigation of drug and firearms trafficking.

The plea deal for Michelle Dahl, 58, was entered June 3 before Judge Ryan Esplin. She is convicted of sale of dangerous drugs and transportation of dangerous drugs for sale.

Deputy Mohave County Attorney Phillip Delgado said Dahl and co-defendant Joan Lapointe, 63, Kingman, sold two ounces of methamphetamine for $400 to an undercover Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms agent in the 3800 block of East Lum Avenue in Kingman on Dec. 19, 2024.

Delgado told the court that Dahl and Lapointe also transported four ounces of methamphetamine to sell to the same agent in Aug., 2025.

Lapointe is serving an 11-year prison term through a previous plea agreement. Dahl is eligible for probation but could also get up to 15 years in prison at her July 1 sentencing hearing.
