Kingman community invited to 2nd Annual Hobbies Not Habits event this June

KINGMAN – Following an overwhelmingly positive response from the community during its inaugural year, the Mohave Substance Treatment Education & Prevention Partnership (MSTEPP) is excited to announce the return of the 2nd Annual Hobbies Not Habits event in Kingman. The Hobbies Not Habits event will take place June 13, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Boys & Girls Club in Kingman.

Attendees can enjoy interactive activities, community resources, games, demonstrations, giveaways, and opportunities to discover hobbies and interests that promote healthy choices and lifelong skills.

New this year, donated scholarship funds and community support may help qualifying families offset costs associated with youth hobbies, activities, or programs that may otherwise be financially out of reach. An application and screening process will apply.

“The incredible response we received during our first year showed just how important positive outlets and community connection are for our youth and families,” said Bob DeVries, Project Director for MSTEPP. “We are excited to continue building on that momentum and help connect young people with activities that inspire confidence, creativity, and healthy decision-making.”

Community members and businesses interested in supporting youth scholarships, donating prizes, or contributing family-friendly resources are encouraged to contact Tiffiny Reed at treed@mstepp.org or call 928-897-1788.
