Spillover effect, part one

Dear Editor,

“A little of this and a little of that anytime I want to end it, I will,” was Trump’s response to the Iran war. Yet it’s never a little thing or a little of that when you’ve lost a loved one, especially to the ‘war of choice.’ But then no more cavalier and insensitive than him, an American president, not removing his hat to honor the fallen soldiers that lost their lives in His war.

Even exploiting their deaths using it as a photo op for personal financial gains that a veteran wrote in his op letter, ‘military ceremony is not the place for merchandising.’

Trump offended and disheartened so many, especially those who’ve given military service to their country. Then as if nothing happened, Trump was back to golfing and fundraising with his billionaire donors for his pet projects while he talks excessively about his Marie Antoinette ballroom the size of two football fields and his 250-foot arch to honor himself. That’ll over shadow the Lincoln Memorial as well the sanctuary of our scarred and beloved Arlington Cemetery.

And now topping it off, he boasts he’ll be the first time ever living American president’s signatures on U.S. currency. All the while in the midst of our soldiers fighting and dying in what he doesn’t even have the courage to call a war, but ‘an excursion.’ ??

While Trump and some pretend they can declare vestry there’s no victory in the unnecessary loss of American soldiers nor bombing hospitals and elementary schools killing women and children that will only crate more hate and anger and revenge.

Feeling no different if the same was done to us. A spillover effect stoking more anti-American sentiment jeopardizing our country’s safety and well-being that’s costing a whopping billion each day when we’ve been told our government can’t afford national healthcare?

By a president whose whole presidency has been about fighting wars who’s never fought in a war or expects his adult children to fight in a war but, he does ours. Instead, while he’s warmongering his adult sons are war profiteering with their investments in a company selling billions worth in drones to the Pentagon. But what else can we expect when it’s a Fox and Friends co-host running the Pentagon who gets angry at the press if they don’t take flattering photos of him or rewrite the truth about what’s actually happening.

Instead puffs up his chest and brags about how many wars he can start and how many lies he can takeout. Mocking death with despicable unserious and unprofessional memes. Both him and Trump laughing about it as if adolescents playing video war games. Just the name ‘epic fury’ says it all … it’s juvenile as is ‘midnight hammer’ that only a bro-boy could get high on. Sending chills down the spine hearing Hegseth say, “stupid protocols” aren’t necessary, yet, people are dying for unnecessary reasons.

And now Trump wants to restart nuclear testing that’ll send a bad precedence to other countries and override the decades long nuclear test ban treaty Susan Stone addresses in her op letter, “resuming nuclear testing is a dangerous step backwards.” While war crimes keep mounting on the back of Trump and Hegseth as has with Putin and Natanyanhu, neither one seems unfazed. But then it’s not about us and the people who don’t want wars it’s about those who run the countries who think wars are indispensable regardless of how many lives are lost and ruined. But the questions is now what now? Trump said the Strait of Hormuz isn’t out problem. Oh really? It is now since he started the war!

Not just for us now but other countries too. Saying one thing and then another as if Trump doesn’t know what he’s doing leaving many to think as the saying goes, “If you don’t know where you’re going any road will take you there.” So calling it a victory where ever you end up. Like Trump and Hegseth are doing. But as Susan Stone noted in her op letter, ‘Trump’s Boondoggle War,’ it’s causing a spillover effect that’ll leave no one unscathed. Not here or anywhere.
