Oklahoma woman gets prison for transporting meth found during traffic stop

Interior of courtroom

KINGMAN — An Oklahoma City woman told a local judge she thought she was hauling pot rather than methamphetamine when busted during a DPS traffic stop in northwest Arizona on April 14. Kristina Foster, 40, addressed judge Billy Sipe during her November 6 sentencing hearing in Kingman.

Foster tearfully explained she thought she was driving marijuana across states where use of cannabis is legal when she was bound for Oklahoma, but arrested in Mohave County. The illegal cargo in a box inside her vehicle contained 30 pounds of methamphetamine.

“I’m so sorry,” Foster exclaimed as she pleaded for probation.

Judge Sipe said probation is not an option given the type, and amount of drugs involved.

Sipe imposed a 3.5-year prison term and ordered forfeiture of $6,000 seized during the traffic stop.
