BULLHEAD CITY – Mohave County Superior Court judge Lee Jantzen said he changed his mind more than once whether he would send a Bullhead City man to prison or place him on probation in his drug case. He told Chad Loftin, 42, that he was giving him an opportunity for probation, despite his legal history.
An Oklahoma City woman told a local judge she thought she was hauling pot rather than methamphetamine when busted during a DPS traffic stop in northwest Arizona on April 14.
LAKE HAVASU CITY – A Lake Havasu City man arrested during a quarter-pound methamphetamine seizure has entered a plea agreement in Mohave County Superior Court in Kingman.
CHLORIDE – A significant drug seizure in the town of Chloride is reported following a routine traffic stop. A vehicle driven by Steven James Shaffer, 49, Pocatello, Idaho was pulled over at 2:00 p.m. Monday at Second Street on Tennessee Avenue. Mohave County Sheriff’s office spokeswoman Anita Mortensen said the vehicle was searched after Shaffer was arrested for a valid warrant. She said deputies confiscated 2.5 pounds of methamphetamine and seven ounces of heroin. Mortensen said a small amount of marijuana and a .40 caliber weapon were also seized inside the vehicle.
