KINGMAN — The Kingman chapter of Soroptimist is accepting applications for the Live Your Dream Award, an annual education award given to women who meet certain requirements. A minimum of $2,500 will be awarded to the first-place winner and $1,500 to the second-place winner.
To be eligible for the Live Your Dream Award, the recipient must be a woman with financial need who is the primary financial support for her dependents and must be enrolled in an undergraduate or vocational education program. The winner will also be eligible for additional awards from the Soroptomist Golden West Region.
Last year, a total of $9,000 was awarded to six different women. The Live Your Dream Award is one of three awards given out by Soroptimist each year.
Soroptomist also offers a High School Academic Award, for girls planning to attend higher education, which is available all year through the guidance counselor at each high school. The DK Rose Award is also available for those that don’t qualify for the Live Your Dream Award, and applications for that award will become available in February.
The deadline for completed applications for the Live Your Dream Award is on November 15. Applications for the Live Your Dream Award are accepted online only and can be submitted at sikingman.clubexpress.com.v
