Kingman motorcyclist struck by vehicle

KINGMAN — A Kingman man was seriously injured when the motorcycle he was operating was struck by a vehicle early Tuesday, September 16. Kingman police officers responding to the incident at about 1:00 a.m. learned that a passenger vehicle driven by a Colorado man sideswiped the 25-year-old victim.

“Investigators learned that the passenger car had exited Interstate 40 at Stockton Hill Road, turning right to go southbound and that the motorcycle was also southbound on Stockton Hill Road in the inside lane,” said deputy police chief Joel Freed. “The passenger car merged into the inside lane and struck the motorcycle, ejecting the rider.”

The Kingman man who was not wearing a helmet reportedly sustained a serious head injury and was flown to Sunrise Hospital in Las Vegas after initial transport to Kingman Regional Medical Center.

Neither speed nor impairment are suspected as factors in the accident that Freed said was a case of inattentive driving. The Colorado man, 32-year old Dmetrios Limon was cited and released for a misdemeanor moving violation.
