letter to the editor

Dear Editor,

Kingman Chapter of Community and Family Interest club, known here in Kingman, as The Morning Glories.

What started over 100 years ago was a system to help get research-based farming and ranching information in rural areas. Now, our group has only been in Mohave County since 1961, when we became chartered.

Originally, the University of Arizona Cooperative Extension provided that information to farmers and ranchers to fulfill their agricultural needs. Over a period of time, a need for basic community information and homemaking skills became a necessity.

One of our major goals is to raise funds throughout the year for scholarships to local high school seniors. Our second goal is to develop friendships in the community and strengthen families by educating them on programs in the Kingman area.

Our first meeting this year is September 18, gathering at 9:30 with meeting starting at 10. We meet monthly on the third Thursday from Sept. to May. Our meeting our in the Fellowship Hall at 1730 Kino Ave, (St. John’s United Methodist Church). All are welcome to join. For questions, please call Melissa 928 715-7418.
