City of Kingman adopts FY2025-26 budget and releases annual Citizens’ Guide

City council

KINGMAN — The Kingman City Council adopted its Fiscal Year 2025/2026 Budget on June 24th and has just released its annual Citizens’ Budget, which is designed to give residents an accessible and transparent overview of how public funds are being used to serve the community.

This year’s adopted budget totals $309.9 million, funding a wide range of priorities across city operations and capital projects. A major highlight of the FY26 budget is the City’s continued investment in its Pavement Preservation Program, with more than $7.6 million allocated to treat, repair, and maintain Kingman’s 459 lane miles of roadway. This is year three of a seven-year plan aimed at improving road conditions, extending pavement life, and reducing long-term maintenance costs.

“Maintaining our roads is one of the most critical services we provide,” said City Manager Tim Walsh. “Our residents drive these streets every day whether it’s to work, to school, or to the grocery store. Investing in pavement preservation means investing in safety and reliability for our whole community.”

Other key initiatives in the FY2025-26 Citizens’ Budget include:

·                     $161 million in capital project funding citywide

·                     Continued investment in public safety, including fire station remodels

·                     Support for economic development and long-term infrastructure planning

·                     Ongoing improvements to parks and recreation amenities
