LAKE HAVASU CITY – Lake Havasu City partners with all local schools, including those outside the Lake Havasu Unified School District, to educate students on e-bike safety. Through the “Bicycle and E-Bike Safety” training, Lake Havasu City Police Department (LHCPD) officers from the Traffic Enforcement Unit and Community Services Unit reached approximately 4,800 students.
The training provides students in grades three through twelve with critical knowledge of Arizona state laws, local ordinances, and best practices for operating bicycles and e-bikes safely. During the course, officers emphasized safety measures such as reducing speed near pedestrians, yielding at crosswalks, and following proper traffic flow. The training also includes regulations on electric motorcycles like Surron and Talaria models and motorized recreational vehicles such as go-karts and pocket bikes.
As e-bike usage grows, this initiative reflects Lake Havasu City’s ongoing commitment to ensuring young riders have the knowledge and skills to navigate the roads safely.
