LAKE HAVASU CITY – Events and kitchen space nonprofit The KAWS will be having their very first Wines of the World event for spirit connoisseurs featuring the wines of Australia.
The Aussie influenced celebration of wines will be hosted by Havasu marketing consultant Cristi Newport and True Eats catering business owner and chef Jonathan Gonzales.
Newport, who has lived in Lake Havasu for just five years, is also a member of the Women’s Network Exchange of Arizona, the supportive nonprofit for the successful business women of Lake Havasu. Originally from Southern California, Gonzales has been sharing his passion in the culinary industry for the past sixteen years. In just a little over a decade, the owner now has expanded from 12 to 32 locations specializing in plated and classic buffet menu items.
Newport and Gonzales were brought together by Jennifer Druskovich of the KAW’s First Fridays and Night Market. Gonzales’s True Eats restaurant is a current resident of the KAWS while Newport has previously completed level thirteen wine spirit courses and events and has provided educational information about wines of various regions at wine tasting events.
Together, the two will be teaming up to host the wine pairings occasion. Attendees will be able to sample the various wines of Australia and the tasty foods of True Eats at $60 per person.
Your taste buds will be in for delicious duets when your palate will take a stroll through the ‘Lucky Country’. with the following flavorful combinations. Hollydooker from South Australia, with short rib meat pie, Penley Estate Cabernet Sauvignon, Coonawara with marinated skirt steak skewer, Angove Chardonnay with fig brie grilled cheese, and Wakefield Riesling with shrimp cucumber cup. The Wines of the World Event will be taking place on Monday, March 24 beginning at 6 p.m. the KAWS Kitchen Art Work Space. Proceeds of this wine tasting experience will go directly to the KAWS so that they can continue to help existing and new businesses thrive.
