Human remains located near Lake Havasu City may be missing woman

LAKE HAVASU CITY – Mohave County Sheriff’s Office Detectives are investigating human remains located in a desert area near London Bridge Rd. in Lake Havasu City. On Wednesday, July 24, Search and Rescue Units were deployed in the area after receiving information that personal items belonging to missing person, Marissa Hoffmann, were located in the area at approximately 11 p.m. the evening before.

Marissa Nicole Hoffman, 33, of Lake Havasu City, was reported missing on July 14 by family members, stating they had not had contact with Hoffmann since July 10. Searchers located the remains and notified detectives, who responded to the scene.

Although the remains appear to be those of Hoffman, a positive identification will be determined by the Mohave County Medical Examiner’s Office after the completion of an autopsy. This investigation is ongoing.
