Supervisors receive anti-semitic mail

MOHAVE COUNTY – At least three of the five Mohave County supervisors received an anti-semitic postcard at their home addresses Tuesday. The mailings follow the Board’s Jan. 16 vote adopting a resolution supporting the right of the nation and people of Israel to defend themselves against terrorist aggression.

“Stop taking orders from an anti-white zioni$t hate group,” reads the cards received by Chairman Hildy Angius and Supervisors Buster Johnson and Jean Bishop. “These postcards were sent to educate public servants without malicious intent.”

The cards assert that the holocaust was fake news and that “Jews did 911.”

Angius said she’ll be contacting the Bullhead City Police Department and the Anti-Defamation League regarding her concern about the communication.

“This is really dangerous,” Angius said. “I think right-thinking people will be appalled as well.”

Angius told Greg Befort he was her “mortal enemy” when the Yucca resident criticized county contemplation of the resolution.

Angius has since apologized but Befort on Tuesday filed a disorderly conduct complaint targeting Angius with the Kingman Police Department and he said he also asserted Civil Rights violations with the Office of Arizona Attorney General.
