250th U.S. Anniversary celebrations slated in Bullhead City

BULLHEAD CITY – The Mohave County Library, Colorado River Historical Society, and Supervisor Rich Lettman, are proud to announce a collaborative series of community events celebrating the upcoming 250th anniversary of the United States.

All events will take place at Mohave Valley Library on Hancock Rd, and highlight the history, culture, and spirit of the American Revolution through engaging exhibits and community gatherings.

The celebration begins with the exhibit “Flags: Symbols of the American Revolution.” This special display will feature 18 historic flags from the Revolutionary war era, each accompanied by interpretive stories explaining the history, symbolism, and significance behind these powerful banners of liberty. The exhibit will be open to the public  April 30 – June 13, during regular library hours, providing visitors with an opportunity to explore the visual legacy of the Revolution and the ideals that helped shape the nation.

The second event, “A Night at the Library Celebrating America 250,” will offer an elegant evening of music, light refreshments, and patriotic celebration. The evening will begin with a special performance by the Mohave High School Choir performing patriotic selections, followed by jazz music throughout the evening. The event will take place on April 30, from 6 to 8:30 p.m., with pre-sold tickets available for $20 beginning April 1, through the Colorado River Historical Society Museum.

The celebration concludes with “Family Day at the Library Celebrating America 250” on June 5 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. This free community event will invite families to enjoy games, art projects, and interactive opportunities to learn more about the American Revolution.

Special thanks to the sponsors: The Colorado River Historical Society, Legacy Foundation, and The River 250.
