13th Annual Balloon Festival promises exciting fun for all ages

LAKE HAVASU CITY – For the past 12 years, Havasu Balloon Festival has been bringing their balloon festival and fair to the community.  The three-day event will have many photo opportunities available for balloons ascending to the skies.  Spectators will have a chance to get up close views of balloons as they lift off.  There is an entry fee to access the carnival.  The rides cost $1 for four tickets. Police seek fatal hit-and-run vehicle

GOLDEN VALLEY – The Mohave County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) is trying to determine who is responsible for a hit-and-run pedestrian fatality in Golden Valley on Tuesday, Jan. 2. Deputies responded at 7:41 p.m. to a report of a male subject lying in the roadway at the corner of Chino Dr. and Adobe Rd. MCSO spokesman Anita Mortensen said James Douglas McDaniel, 69, Golden Valley, was dead at the scene. Judith A. David fka Judy Kunsman, age 78, went home to be with our Lord on December 30, 2023 at Desert Highlands Care Center in Kingman, Arizona after an extended illness. She was born March 1, 1945, in Fort Wayne, Indiana to parents William and Dorothy (Fox) David. She was baptized at Holy Cross Lutheran Church and was confirmed and graduated from elementary school at Zion Lutheran Church. KINGMAN – The City of Kingman is providing a drop-off place for Christmas trees. This will be for Christmas trees only. The trees need to be clean of all lights and decorations, so they can go through the wood chipper for recycling. The designated drop-off location is at the City of Kingman Public Works Building, 3700 E. Andy Devine Ave. The area is at the north end of the property and well-marked with signs. Trees can be dropped off seven days a week from 6:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m. The program runs until February 16.
