First positive COVID-19 case at Mohave County Jail

KINGMAN – An inmate of the Mohave County Adult Detention Facility tested positive on Tuesday for COVID-19. The inmate, currently housed in medical isolation at the jail, has shown no signs or symptoms of the virus and will continue to be monitored and provided treatment as may be necessary. BULLHEAD CITY – Bullhead City Fire Department personnel handled two incidents in the same hour on Monday, May 25. Units first responded at 9:25 p.m. to a brush fire behind the Anderson Automotive Field House. Fire Department information officer Lori Viles said the property was not threatened. She said no one was injured in the fire that scorched about 3 acres of brush. KINGMAN – Contractors will be working from now until 5:00 p.m. Friday, May 29, for street and drainage improvements for a private office renovation. CK Concrete is doing the work and Jim Hubka is the main contact at at (928) 279-1100 cell or 928-715-1500 office. Work is causing the contractors to close Robinson Avenue at the Stockton Hill Road intersection, as well as place some lane restrictions along Stockton Hill Rd., as well. The city would like to remind the traveling public to be cautious driving through work zones.

Dear Editor, The Kingman Marine Corps League wants to thank all who attended the memorial service that was held in the Veterans Park on Monday, May 25. Those who attended, masked and unmasked, were respectful of those around them. They did their best to spread out. I want to particularly thank the ladies from the Kingman Rotary who gave out masks for all who wanted one. The Kingman Young Marine Color Guard, VVA members Mike Beard who did the Pledge of Allegiance and Dave Stafford who handled our first ever streaming event, which is posted on the Kingman Marine Corps…
