Two killed in traffic crash

WIKIEUP – Two people were killed in a single-vehicle traffic accident in south Mohave County early Thursday. Department of Public Safety Troopers responded just after 1:00 a.m. to the incident about 15 miles south of Wikieup. DPS said the vehicle left the highway and rolled. Both the driver and passenger were dead at the scene. Further details were initially unavailable and an accident investigation continues.

Police warn of prize notification, lottery scams

BULLHEAD CITY – The Bullhead City Police Department is warning the public, particularly seniors, about lottery and prize notification scams. Two local victims recently received a phone call from a man claiming to be from “Publisher’s Clearing House.” The scammer gave very specific instructions on how to send money for “taxes” or “processing fees” in order to collect their winnings.When one of the victims discovered it was a scam and refused to send more money, the scam artist threatened that the FBI would be involved if they didn’t pay the fee/taxes. KINGMAN – In early May, Arizona Supreme Court Chief Justice Robert Brutinel issued Administrative Order 2020-75, updated and replaced by Administrative Order 2020-79, providing Arizona’s courts and the public with direction on returning to in-court operations after limited operations in response to COVID-19. The Order includes direction for in-person proceedings, empaneling juries, limiting access to courthouses and courtrooms, implementing social distancing and using technology to continue court operations.
