BOS meeting: Demonstration, COVID-19, new county manager, Dot Foods incentive

MOHAVE COUNTY – Some terse words from Mohave County Board of Supervisor Gary Watson punctuated the start of Monday’s Board of Supervisors meeting that included action on a veritable potpourri of items. George Floyd, protestor violence – how to solve all this Dear Editor,

The death of George Floyd at the hands of police should never have happened.  It was murder and a dark moment in America. Weaver said they’ve been taking screen shots of the threats and turning them over to local law enforcement officials. She said one encouraged citizens to arm themselves and use the demonstrators for target practice and sniper fire. “We are aware of that and we…

How are you using your words?

As our nation goes through these times of tribulation and turmoil, I am reminded of “words”. Words are powerful, if used correctly. To many times we say things that devastate someone’s hope and dreams with what they say. Recently, I was grocery shopping and overheard this conversation, “Can you help me sanitize these carts please?” Answer: “No, that’s not in my job description”. I couldn’t help but ask, “Why not? Don’t you work here too?” This person seemed nice and she was young too but I couldn’t help but be a little turned off and her niceness disappeared. All I…
