Grand Canyon National Park warns visitors to beware of wild rabbit carcasses

GRAND CANYON – The National Park Service is asking visitors to take caution and not to approach wildlife, especially wild rabbits. Rabbit hemorrhagic disease (RHDV2) was recently detected in a dead jackrabbit found within Grand Canyon National Park, making it the first detected case in the park. RHDV2 is a highly-contagious and lethal viral disease among domestic and wild rabbits. The virus does not infect humans, but other causes of illness and mortality of rabbits can. COVID-19 update: Six new cases, one death

MOHAVE COUNTY, AZ (June 1, 2020) Late Monday afternoon, the Mohave County Health Department (MCDPH) Nursing staff was notified of six new COVID-19 cases and one death. The person who died is 30-39 in the Kingman service area, a previously reported case. Of the six new cases, five are in the Bullhead City service area. Three have their case under investigation—one is 0-18; one is 19-29; one is 40-49. One person, 30-39, is recovering at home and under investigation. The last Bullhead City area case is in the 80-89 year age range and is hospitalized and linked to another case….

‘BLM’ protest underway peacefully in Kingman

KINGMAN – A few dozen demonstrators peacefully protested during the first hour of a Black Lives Matter rally in downtown Kingman Tuesday. More than 20 uniformed officers and plain clothes detectives manned the perimeter of Locomotive Park while motorists viewed protest placards while driving by. Armed members of the Arizona Patriots occupied one corner of the park, standing vigil against violence. Heidenreich Center reopens

KINGMAN – The Kathryn Heidenreich Center (KHAC) will be open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Fridays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Guidelines for reopening are social distancing, frequent hand washing, wear a face covering, avoid touching face, and stay home if sick.
