Colorado River claims man’s life in drowning

BULLHEAD CITY – An Ethiopian national residing in Las Vegas drowned on the Arizona side of the Colorado River on Thursday, June 11. The name of the 24-year-old victim was withheld pending notification of kin. Bullhead City police spokeswoman said the man who couldn’t swim was wading in the river when he stepped into a deeper pool and went under in the area of casino boat docks. COVID-19 update: 16 new cases, two deaths

MOHAVE COUNTY – Late Thursday afternoon, the Mohave County Health Department (MCDPH) Nursing staff was notified of 16 new COVID-19 confirmed cases and two deaths.  One of the deaths is a 70-79 age range person in the Bullhead City service area, a previously reported case.  The other was not previously reported. It’s a 90+ person in the Kingman service area. Of the 16 new cases, 8 are in the Bullhead City area. One is hospitalized.
