Colorado River claims man’s life in drowning

BULLHEAD CITY – An Ethiopian national residing in Las Vegas drowned on the Arizona side of the Colorado River on Thursday, June 11. The name of the 24-year-old victim was withheld pending notification of kin. Bullhead City police spokeswoman said the man who couldn’t swim was wading in the river when he stepped into a deeper pool and went under in the area of casino boat docks. Arizona’s Monsoon season officially brings on June 15, bringing with it the daily potential for high winds, lightning, and heavy bursts of rain. COVID-19 update: 16 new cases, two deaths

MOHAVE COUNTY – Late Thursday afternoon, the Mohave County Health Department (MCDPH) Nursing staff was notified of 16 new COVID-19 confirmed cases and two deaths.  One of the deaths is a 70-79 age range person in the Bullhead City service area, a previously reported case.  The other was not previously reported. It’s a 90+ person in the Kingman service area. Of the 16 new cases, 8 are in the Bullhead City area. One is hospitalized.
