COVID-19 update: 74 new cases, one death

MOHAVE COUNTY – Late Thursday afternoon, the Mohave County Health Department (MCDPH) Nursing staff was notified of 74 new confirmed COVID-19 cases and that includes one death not previously reported. The one death is that of a 90+ year age range person and it’s a case in the Bullhead City service area that was not previously reported. Of the 73 other cases, 26 cases are in the Lake Havasu City service area. There are 25 cases in the Bullhead City service area. Kingman Council approves P&Z matters

KINGMAN – Planning and Zoning recommendations were approved during the July 21 Kingman City Council meeting. Parcels roughly one and two-acres in size on the south corner of N Bank Street and Gordon Drive are rezoned from rural residential to commercial. Owner applicants Gregory and Michael Seitz have indicated apartment complexes could be developed on the parcels. They are not bound by that initial plan, however, and are free to pursue other projects on the property. Governor Ducey issues executive order to further protect public health

Governor Doug Ducey yestserday extended an executive order pausing operations on gyms, bars, nightclubs, movie theaters, water parks, and tubing. The order also continues to prohibit large public events and enables local law enforcement to take immediate enforcement action to ensure compliance with the order. MOHAVE VALLEY – The Mohave County Sheriff’s office is trying to locate a man who allegedly threatened to kill others and himself during a Tuesday quarrel in Mohave Valley. Deputies responded at 4:30 p.m. to a residence in the 5600 block of Ruby Street. It had been reported that Cameron Anderson, 24, threatened three occupants of the home, saying he would shoot them and himself with a rifle. “Victims reported Anderson was waiving the gun around and also pointing the gun to his chin,” said agency spokeswoman Anita Mortensen.
