Rachel Diane Mains, of Kingman, died Sunday, July 26, 2020. She was 46. Ms. Mains was born Nov. 13, 1973 in Kingman. A service was held Thursday, July 30 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Sutton Memorial Funeral Home. The family contact is her son Ethan Gene Mains. Arrangements were made by Sutton Memorial Funeral Home.
KINGMAN – Mohave County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) deputies arrested Jacob Patrick Frazell, 26, of Kingman on Wednesday morning, July 29 for possession of dangerous drugs, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and an outstanding warrant, all felonies. According to a MCSO spokesperson, at approximately 1:00 a.m., deputies contacted Frazell in the area of Swan Drive and Bluebird Lane. A record check showed Frazell to have a felony warrant for possession of dangerous drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia issued by Kingman Justice Court. MOHAVE COUNTY – Coronavirus testing in Bullhead City a week ago revealed a concerning rate of infection within the pool. Department of Public Health Director Denise Burley told Mohave County Supervisors Thursday that 171 of the 200 people who pre-registered actually had tests conducted by North Country HealthCare (NCHC). “Twelve of the 90 tests collected on Friday were positive and 12 of the 81 tests collected on Saturday were positive,” Burley said. “That leads to a 14.5% positivity rate. GOLDEN VALLEY – A man wanted for multiple felony offenses was killed in an Officer-Involved Shooting (OIS) in Golden Valley. Authorities said Jason Henke, 42, Golden Valley, died of multiple gunshot wounds late Wednesday at a home in the 3600 block of N. Santa Maria Road. The Kingman Police Department is conducting an independent investigation of the shooting involving a Mohave County sheriff’s deputy. Police spokeswoman Jennifer Sochocki said the deputy developed information during an 11:15 p.m. traffic stop that Henke was at the N. Santa Maria Road residence. Sochocki said the deputy arrived on the property about 11:30 p.m….
KINGMAN – As the state and county have seen a slight downward trend in overall positive tests of COVID-19, the rates of new cases and hospitalizations is still very high. There remains a risk to the well-being of citizens and additional strain on the healthcare facilities and workers in the City of Kingman. On July 26, Sunday evening at approximately 9:20 p.m., several Bullhead City Fire Department (BCFD) units were dispatched to a reported structure fire the 1700 block of Diamond Dr. The first arriving units reported smoke and flames showing from a single-story residence. After receiving some conflicting reports that one person may still be inside of the structure, Engine 761s crew made entry through the front door advancing to a rear bedroom.
