WACOG volunteer coordinator Melinda Kemp accepts a proclamation Tuesday evening, Sept. 3, from City of Kingman Mayor Jen Miles. The document proclaims “Falls Prevention Awareness Day” to be Monday, Sept. 23. WACOG, in conjunction with other area agencies will host a fall prevention event on that day at the Kingman Community Center, 3345 Harrison St. The event is open to the public. Medication checkups, blood pressure screenings, and falls prevention assessments will be provided.

BULLHEAD CITY – Bullhead City Vice Mayor Annette Wegmann has been charged with theft in a dispute over furnishings that were removed from a condo managed by a company that formerly employed her. Wegmann faces arraignment in Mohave County Superior Court in Kingman Thursday. The initial investigation started with a Bullhead City Police detective who handed the matter off to Lake Havasu City Police, due to the conflict of interest. GOLDEN VALLEY – There will be a wash to benefit the American Legion Unit 22 Auxiliary of Golden Valley Relief Fund on Wednesday, Sept. 11 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Amber’s Mutt Hut, 3659 Hw. 68, Ste. 7 (just east of The Outpost). The bath includes ears, nails, anals, and teeth. Cost is $10 to $15 for small dogs; $20 to $25 for medium dogs; and $30 to $35 for large dogs. KINGMAN – Several downtown Kingman property owners objected when the city council approved a proposed grain silo for the Rickety Cricket brewery operation on Beale St. Owner Terry Thomson sought an encroachment permit to place the 31-foot-tall structure that can store up to 55,000 pounds of grain on a portion of the public sidewalk. KINGMAN – Kingman police say a woman was hurt and a man was arrested after they engaged in a domestic dispute where they reside together in the 600 block of Market Street. Officers responded to a reported stabbing on the property at 6:45 p.m. Monday, Sept. 3. Deputy Police Chief Rusty Cooper said the 60-year-old woman was struck in the head by a fan and stabbed in the arm by a screwdriver.
