Havasu hosts 9th Annual Havasu Zombie Pub Crawl

LAKE HAVASU CITY – Something evil’s lurking from the dark. Fans o The Walking Dead, or just the curious ready for pre-Halloween fun, can dress as their favorite zombie and join the horde invading Main Street on the hunt for fresh brains and fleshon Saturday, Oct. 19. Men and women who want to become firefighters should fill out an application for the Spring 2020 MCC Fire Academy. Mohave Community College’s Fire Science program partners with local fire stations to offer the best education and training in the region. Completion of the fire academy is a requirement for anyone who wants to become a firefighter. The MCC Fire Academy is a 272-hour course providing recruits training in basic firefighting concepts including fire behavior, rescue procedures, command and control, fire suppression, hazardous materials, and firefighter safety. On August 8, the most recent class of Hoover Dam’s Power System Electrician Apprentices — Corinna Wittig, Chris Hanson, Dustin Shigematsu, Richard Stewart and Paul Valdez — graduated from their four-year program, becoming journeyman electricians. The graduates have earned certificates from the Department of Labor, Nevada State Apprenticeship Council and the Lower Colorado Dams Office, along with this highly anticipated graduation ceremony. Kino Avenue Waterline Project update

New closure in effect next week- KINGMAN – Kino Avenue between Irving Street and Kenneth Street will be closed starting the morning of September 16, through 5 p.m., September 26. The project to install a new water transmission main on Kino Ave., between Arizona Street to the Mohave Wash, started August 12. Portions of Kino Ave. will be closed throughout the project, and detours will be in place for street closures.
