KINGMAN – On Wednesday, June 26, U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Development Single Family Housing staff will be available in Mohave County Community Service’s Mezzanine Room from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. to inform and process homeowner applications for 504 Home Repair Loans and Grants. In partnership with the Western Arizona Council of Governments (WACOG). Homeowners are invited to speak with a specialist about available programs and begin applications. Representatives from the Social Security Administration (SSA) will also be present to assist with services. Bilingual services available.
“We’re excited to bring Rural Development Day to Mohave County and provide the opportunity for qualifying homeowners in Kingman and neighboring towns to learn about and apply for our programs,” says Arizona State Director Charlene Fernandez. “The 504 Home Repair Loan and Grant Programs helps make rural home repairs possible: roofing, flooring, bathroom and kitchen renovations, and more. Our expert team is coming to you, so take advantage of their proximity and see what Rural Development can do for you.”
Funds can be used to repair and improve parts of homes including HVAC systems, roofs, kitchens, bathrooms and more.
Loans up to $40,000 are available. Grants up to $10,000 are available. Loans and grants can be combined.
About the program
USDA provides 504 Repair Loans and Grants to very-low-income homeowners to repair, improve, or modernize their home. Single Family Housing staff will be availavle to answer questions and process applications.
Who can apply?
To qualify, you must be a homeowner and occupy the house, have a family income within the very-low-income limit; for grants, be age 62 or older.
What to bring if you can:
Signed tax return from the previous two years, four most recent paystubs, Social Security award letter, VA award letter, deed or most recent property tax assessment, list of home repairs needed.
