Turkey Testicle Festival. Say that three times fast.

LAKE HAVASU CITY – The year has said goodbye to yet another turkey holiday, but Havasu had other unique plans in store. Additional servings were available in abundance at the fourth annual Turkey Testicle Festival. Yes, you’ve read correctly.

Bunker Bar brought back the Turkey Testicle Festival event for weekend enjoyment. You might be asking yourself, do turkeys really have testicles? Unlike the fictitious McNugget of a chicken, turkey testicles do exist, right below the wing in the chest cavity.

The sunny breezy weekend had many locals hopping in their dune buggies and cruise on to Thirsty Lizard Road for deep fried turkey testicles, competition, live music, and chicken poop bingo. When the chicken pooped on a line, $100 was awarded. If it touched two squares, $50 was given. There was a turkey testicle eating competition at 2:30 p.m. Whoever could eat all turkey balls the fastest was announced the winner. Participants of the competition won a free Bunker Bar T-shirt while second place won $100 and first place won $200 along with the title.

Turkey fun began on Friday, Nov. 24 through Sunday, Nov. 26.

The large turnout of the weekend event is proof that the community may demand a fifth festival next year as it is a chance to experience something unique.

What about the taste? Attendees who were brave enough to try could tell you, “It tastes just like chicken.”
