Free fun and entertainment for the entire family Sept. 27 and 28

KINGMAN – The Andy Devine Days Festival is back this year and is set to follow in previous year’s footsteps as Kingman’s largest street festival! Unisource Energy Vendor Row, opening at 4 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 27, will be sporting various vendors offering food, art and other unique items until 6 p.m. on Saturday. The Kingman Center for the Arts is hosting their third annual 6×6 Route 66 Art Show both days. The 6×6 canvases will be on display at the KCA Gallery at 402 E. Beale Street.
Free Fun Zones, scattered throughout the festival both days, will include the Dambar & Steakhouse Mechanical Bull, Hualapai Mountain Resort Rock Climbing Wall, KRMC Euro Bungee Station, Kingman Daily Miner Obstacle Course, Aetna Medicare Solutions Trackless Train and Bounce Houses. To participate in the Free Fun Zones, participants must sign waivers and wear a festival wristband. Wristbands and festival Information will be available at the Information Booth located in Unisource Energy Vendor Row. “With all the free and fun activities going on this year, those who attend are sure to have a great time!” said Festival Chairman Josh Noble.
The free Friday night and Saturday concerts consist of Nashville artists Kyle Coulahan, Elvie Shane, Carvin Walls and Kingman’s very own Briana Payne Band. “We are so excited to bring Kingman bigger and better entertainment! This big addition will give the Andy Devine Days Festival the push it needs and the experience locals want!” said Festival Vendor Coordinator Nick Bowers. The concerts are family friendly and free to the public. The Friday and SaturdaycConcerts will be held at the corner of Fourth and Beale Streets, facing the Mohave County Courthouse.
This year’s Tractor Supply Co. Human Strength Tractor Pull Competition, which drew a large crowd last year, will pit five-person teams against each other pulling a two ton, 1949 John Deere Model D for the quickest run time. Also, there will be a lighter weight tractor for the youth division. The competition will be held on Beale Street between Third and Fourth Streets. Spectating is free!
Saturday morning vendors open back up at 8 a.m. The parade starts at 10 a.m. and continues almost to noon. Immediately following the parade, cars will begin lining up on Beale Street for the Great West Customs Car Show. Car show registration is $20 per car; forms are available online at www.andydevinedaysfestival.com. The car show will close with awards at 4:30 p.m., just as the Andy Devine Days GCPRA Rodeo kicks off at the Mohave County Fairgrounds. Hot Wheels Drag Races will go on during the car show.
