KINGMAN – A Mohave County Sheriff’s Office deputy shot and killed a man during a lunch hour encounter in Kingman. Agency spokeswoman Anita Mortensen said deputies responded at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 13 to a request to assist a neighboring law enforcement agency with a pursuit in north Kingman. “Deputies spotted the involved vehicle and observed the involved male subject walking on Norrie Dr. with a weapon,” Mortensen said. “Verbal commands were issued and a confrontation with the male subject evolved into shots fired by one deputy and the male subject.” Mortensen said the subject was dead at the scene. KINGMAN – Nobody was injured in an officer-involved shooting incident in Kingman late Sunday, May 10. Kingman Police Chief Rusty Cooper said the gunfire occurred about 11:30 p.m. in the vicinity of the Jack In The Box restaurant off Andy Devine Avenue. Cooper said one male suspect was taken into custody. No further details were provided.The Bullhead City police department is conducting an independent review, which is customary in officer-involved shootings.Bullhead City police department spokeswoman Emily Fromelt confirmed the involvement of her agency and said a press release will issue later today.

MOHAVE COUNTY, AZ (April 29 2020) The Mohave County Health Department (MCDPH) Nursing staff was notified late this afternoon of eleven new COVID-19 positive cases, as well as two COVID-19 related deaths in Mohave County.  Both of the deaths were in previously identified confirmed cases. All of these cases, including the two newly reported deaths are in the Kingman service area.
