Christmas is a joyful season but always has some challenges.
The place of Christmas is often a question. Mary and Joseph ended up in Bethlehem when Jesus was born. They had gone there to pay taxes. Paying taxes is never fun but something we have to do. The place they ended up when Jesus was born was probably not their desired location to bear their first child but they made the most of the location.
Location trips a lot of people up on Christmas. Many have no choice. They will spend Christmas in the nursing home or jail.
We don’t have to eat ourselves to death to enjoy the holidays. I’m including myself when I say this. I gained two pounds just from Thanksgiving day alone. I had finally lost a few pounds and presto, faster than the twinkling of an eye I gained two back.
It’s easy to do. I ate generous portions of ham and turkey, along with derby pie (two pieces), oatmeal cake and sweet potato pie. Yum yum it was so darn good!
To show for my eating frenzy is some added weight and a high blood sugar number the next day. There are consequences to such pleasure!
Dear Editor,
In my neighborhood we have a variety of people. We have Democrats and Republicans, Independents, Libertarians, and others. People attend different churches or don’t attend church at all. We have Catholics, Baptists, Pentecostals, Jews, and more. On a new street over from me I’ve noticed several families who appear to be from India, Mexico, the Middle East, plus several new America families. I live in a diverse neighborhood.
I haven’t seen anyone out arguing or fighting.
Dear Editor,

The willing workers of America have been the backbone to making our country the greatest nation in the world. People from all over the world have come here in search of a better life by having the opportunity and the freedom to work hard in order to make their dreams come true. The will and the joy of working has made life better for millions
Dear Editor,
In 1975, I bought a four-cylinder Chevrolet Monza. In my opinion in was a terrible buy and a lousy car. There was one episode after another of maintenance issues and the four-cylinder engine was just a piece of junk.
I survived that car long enough to trade it in on a Toyota Celica.
