MOHAVE VALLEY – The Mohave County Sheriff’s office is trying to locate a man who allegedly threatened to kill others and himself during a Tuesday quarrel in Mohave Valley. Deputies responded at 4:30 p.m. to a residence in the 5600 block of Ruby Street.
It had been reported that Cameron Anderson, 24, threatened three occupants of the home, saying he would shoot them and himself with a rifle.
“Victims reported Anderson was waiving the gun around and also pointing the gun to his chin,” said agency spokeswoman Anita Mortensen. She said Anderson fled before deputies arrived and that a safety sweep of the home netted discovery of a suspicious object.
Mortensen said the Lake Havasu City police department bomb squad (EOD) was called in to assist. “The item was recovered and removed from the residence by the EOD and was found to be a military-grade training device,” she said.
The 5’6”, 150 lb. suspect with brown hair and hazel eyes is considered armed and dangerous and citizens are warned not to approach him. Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Anderson is urged to call the sheriff’s office (928-753-0753) or a toll-free hotline (1-800-522-4312).
