Stay cool this time of year

Dear Editor,

Yes, there actually is life beyond politics. We can complain about the weather, the cost of food, and the endless problems trying to find a number on the thermostat that makes everyone happy. I believe that the thermostat setting can cause as much riff in a household, as finances.

Women are usually too warm, especially as we have aged. Whereas men will often walk around in socks and a robe while asking, “Why is it so darn cold in here?” The weather seems to become more important every day. I know it is for me because I am always checking the numbers for Kingman on the Phoenix news.

That seems to be far more important than the fighting between the democrats and republicans. This is also the time of year we are sneaking up on our utility bill like it is going to bite us when we open the envelope. I must be a glutton for punishment, as I could just have it go into my computer. Even if you are on a budget plan, it shows you how much you are actually using, and how quickly you can exceed your monthly amount.

So, as those triple digit days remain, just remember how much snow we had last winter and how many days you were afraid to go out into it. Six months hot, and six months cold. Put a cover and lock on the thermostat. Make it yours. We can’t control the weather outside, but we sure as heck can control the weather inside. Stay cool.
